Black History Month- Cultural Icons

Black History Month, Cultural Icons takes a look a Black people in a different way from the traditional way! Some of these people had even bigger affects on Black people and America then are traditional Black leaders! This is what happens when you let other people from other races pick and chose and tell you who your leaders are and are not!

                                                     Cultural Icon Robert Johnson

Robert Johnson life is surround by controversy the stories are wide ranging and often conflicting!Everything from his true age, birthplace, grave site, children and wives, death! Also his pact with the devil to be a great musician! His whole life is a unsolved story?

So I want go into his life its to confusing to figure out! But what I will tell you is how great his music was. Robert Johnson never made any real money or gain any fame other than local fame in Mississippi and surrounding areas.

When his music was remastered and sold in the 1960s, it was clear how many artist had study and copy his style! Everyone from blues, jazz, to rock & roll! Black and White people all copied his style and made millions and billions from his style!

* Tip
In America Black music progressed out of other genres for the most part! Blues and jazz sort are the beginning but Blues takes off culturally before Jazz {depending on who you ask}.

1. Blues
2. Jazz
3. Rock & Roll/  in its earlier days was done by Blacks then adopt by Whites
4.  Rhythm and Blues {R&B}
5. Hip Hop
6. Techno- EDM/ Detroit version

Robert Johnson has been now named the Father of Modern Music in America, this pertains and includes Blues, Jazz, Rock & Roll and R&B!

This unbelievable for a Black Man who only lived to be 27 years old?

Thank you, Robert Johnson
