Black Romans: Emperors and Popes

The first Black {African} Emperor of Rome was Septimius Serverus! Emperor Septimius was a Carthaginian from Leptis Magna, Libya, Africa {Northern Africa}. He severed in the Roman army under Marcus Aurelius. He became Emperor after Emperor Pertinax. He fought many wars some in Gaul {modern day Spain}. Some in Arabia Petraea {modern day Saudi Arabia} where he expanded the boards of Arabia for the Roman Empire among the Arabs!

Septimius did not crucify Christian as other Roman Emperors! He said "there was no need to make Christian die for believing in Christ! Nor should they be made to denounce Christ publicly, or pay homage or give sacrifices to Roman Gods!"

His two (2) sons succeed him to the throne which established a Black {African} dynasty of Roman Emperors!

NOTE***
While Rome had a Black Emperor they also had a Black Pope!

Pope Victor I or Pope Saint Victor I

Little is known of Pope Victor I, because this has been kept very quite by the Roman Vatican Church! In Catholicism his feast day is July 28th, known as Saint Victor I the Martyr. In the Asia- Minor it was celebrated on the 14th of the Jewish month of Nisan the day before the Jewish Passover. Victor I was the first Pope to write about theology in Latin!

NOTE***

There were (3) Black Emperors and (3) Black Popes!

peace love and unity!
