California, how did get its name?

                                  California, how did it get its name?

California is name after the Black Queen Calafia!!! She ruled in what is now southern California. The California peninsula known as the Baja or Baja California.

Remember English is a Latin language, so when you see "ia" after a place {city, state or country} this means its name after someone.

When the Spanish came here they encounter many Black People, in America. One of the myths is that Queen Calafia is a fictional character in a book? But this is another try to discredit Black people and Black women. Because Cortez a Spanish Conquistador sent a group of men on a expedition to California, but all were killed expect a few. After hearing this Cortez return with more men and defeated the Black Queen. Then Cortez referred back to the book to cover up for his men being killed by a Black Queen which he was very embarrassed by.

The book was true but it was based on hear- say, this is why people felt the book was fictional. But in later years they found the evidence to support the claims of the book.

There has always been Black women warriors who fought with Black men. If you go to some parts of West Africa today you will find Black women soldiers with A.k.47 assault rifles!

Queen Calafia is said to be the leader of a group of all women amazon warriors. This has not been confirmed yet?

My personally opinion, is that there were more women then men in the army. Because in most case more females are born then males because their genetically superior over men. So in some cases you will have more women in the army then men because of so few men. Plus Europeans oppressed their women, unlike African people were are women were equal in all aspects of life even in the army! Europeans had never fought women warriors until they encounter Black people!
