                                             Shemite People

The people of Cham lived in mordern day Vietnam and Laos. They are a branch people from the sub- continent of India. This people originate from mordern day Arabia. The homelands of Shem and his descendants the Shemites.

The Semitic people of Europe have all but tried to erased these people from history. Their rich culture and beautiful civilization has kept them alive in history.

Semitic people of Europe claim they are descendants of Shem, Noah son!    

The people of Champa were a coastal people seafarers, fishermen and traders. Their empire stretch the coast of modern day Vietnam. Their capital was a city called Indrapura, named after the Hindu God Indra {God of lighting}.

The older capital is named Singhapura {city of the lion}. They also built Holy Cities with many temples. The My- Son valley known for its many Hindu temples.

**Tip
The Asiatic Lion once lived in the area. It is a smaller and lighter in color lion than its Africa cousins. The Ethiopian Lions are the darkest of all lions, sometime called the Black Lions!  

Over the many years different religions have taken root in the area. Some Hindu temples still stand. Buddhism also took root in the area. Islam then took root here and is still the primary religion of the Cham people! Cham people for the most part are the only people in Vietnam who practice Islam.
