Gloria Richardson 1922 to present
Black Civil Rights Movement / Cambridge Movement
Gloria Richardson went Howard University and graduated in 1942.
She became involved with the Civil Rights Movement through her daughter Donna, who was in high school in 1960s. Donna also worked with Civil Rights Groups / Civic Interest Group (C.I.G) and S.N.C.C.
The groups worked on desegregation in Cambridge, Maryland. Schools, Housing and Health Care.
Things were starting to get rough between official and young student. So Gloria started organizing parents who took the matters in their own hands! There were no men that took the lead so Gloria took the led for the parents group!
She went head to head with officials who then called in the National Guard! Gloria put her life on the line and march anger protesters right in harms way, but never back-up! She was prepared to die for her cause! True solider!
We thank you, Gloria Richardson for your good fight!
peace, love and unity!
