Black History Month / Ida B. Wells / the orginal reporter

Ida B. Wells- Barnett 1862 to 1931
The first investigative reporter

Ida was involved in many movements woman rights, woman suffrage and Black civil rights movement. But, her claim to fame was reporting lynching in America!

Lynching had been a huge issues among Blacks in America, a Black man could be lynch for anything, but in most case for simply nothing at all {just being Black}! In the south this  unseemly became a national past time lynching Black men. If lynching itself was not a enough by its technical definition "hanging a man by his neck"! The next definition may be to grotesque for YOUNG CHILDREN TO READ! But we must tell our story! So, I will precede.

Many Black men where bar-b-que alive! Tied to a stake in the ground, fires set under their feet. As crowds of White {European} men, women and children, yes children cheer and celebrated as the flesh from the Black man skin would pop and burst open like a "hot dog on a grill"! Thus making the word picnic synonymous with "pic- a- nigga"! Many times the sex organs {penis} of the Black men where cut- off and placed in his mouth as he was bar-b-que, to resemble a bar-b-que pig with a apple in his mouth!

Ida B. Wells recommend and encouraged Black men to shoot- it- out with White men before being disgracefully hung to death, and at least fire shots to discourage Whites from these horrific acts.

When these crimes where reported to law officials nothing was done at all. In most case the law official had been at the scene or partaken in the crime. This prompted Ida to go and be a eyewitness to report the crime without herself being caught! This kinda of eyewitness reporting gave birth to the modern news and  reporting. Like the media frenzy we see today at the scene of a crime! This style of investigating reporting is Ida B. Wells claim to fame among many other things in the movements she was involved in.

Ida B. Wells- Barnett, God knows I am grateful for your work, which shined the light on lynching help bring it to a slow end! We thank you, for all your hard work!

*These are not my views but true history in America! Not posted to spark anger towards Whites! But the importance of reading and learning about yourself and your people! To many, way to many Black {Africans} have died for your right to learn and be free! Know thy self

peace, love and unity
